The Golden Games

Our Golden Games programme took place across 24 of our Independent Living schemes and engaged 417 of our older residents in Olympic themed activities.

The games injected some much needed community spirit back into our complexes and regularly brought over 100 of our residents from across the city together to enjoy friendly competition.

Hear all about how it helped some of the residents in their video.

STOP community group's 'Door Step Club'

STOP Tenants and Residents Association are based in St Ann's and were initially supported to apply for some funding from our partners Street Games - a national charity that works with 14 - 25 year olds. The group ran a funded youth group for around a year and a half with our support, focusing on engaging young people in a variety of sports and games. Since then the session ran successfully with the help of the Police's Vanguard team and local charity The Renewal Trust.

Hi, I'm Betty Tolley

Fit in the Community is an initiative set up to support Nottingham City Homes customers to lead more active lives. Over the first three years we have engaged over 5,000 people in everything from exercise classes to Olympic themed Golden Games for the 50+.

We have trained volunteers from all over the city to support them to become Aerobics, Chair Based, Pilates and Multi Skills instructors who can deliver back to the communities they are from.
